Happy August! 🏖
Give yourself a pat on the back for making it through another month.
I’m going to take a break from our scripture blogging to write about song lyrics that have been on my heart. Let’s begin.
I AM CLEAN!!
I woke up this morning with a song in my heart called Clean by Natalie Grant.
I see shattered
You see whole
I see broken
But You see beautiful
And You're helping me to believe
You're restoring me piece by piece
There's nothing too dirty
That You can't make worthy
You wash me in mercy
I am clean
There's nothing too dirty
That You can't make worthy
You wash me in mercy
I am clean
What was dead now lives again
My heart's beating, beating inside my chest
Oh I'm coming alive with joy and destiny
'Cause You're restoring me piece by piece
There's nothing too dirty
That You can't make worthy
You wash me in mercy
I am clean
There's nothing too dirty
That You can't make worthy
You wash me in mercy
I am clean
Washed in the blood of Your sacrifice
Your blood flowed red and made me white
My dirty rags are purified
I am clean
Washed in the blood of Your sacrifice
Your blood flowed red and made me white
My dirty rags are purified
I'm clean, I'm clean
Washed in the blood of Your sacrifice
Your blood flowed red and made me white
My dirty rags are purified
I'm clean
I am clean
I'm clean
Oh You made me
You wash me
Clean
Oh You made me clean
As a human, specifically a woman, there are so many things that happen throughout our lives that seem to tarnish our hearts and minds to receive truth from our Divine Creator. Yet, as I listen to this song, I am reminded of my divine identity and divine relationship that draws me closer to Thee. He is the one who makes us righteous. He is one who makes our wrongs purified to be alright. He is the one who says, daughter or son, can I carry that for you now, please?
As I’m sitting on my porch, the rain is coming down gently. It’s such a reminder that the rain always comes, and with it comes nourishment, refreshment, growth, and vibrancy. There isn’t anything the earth has to do but receive the rain sent down to nourish our planet, which nourishes us. This reminds me of one of my favorite movie scenes from Singing in the Rain with Gene Kelly. There is something so simply perfect about the simple stroll down the sidewalk with no care in the world, just leisurely singing in the rain. If you watch the video linked at the end of this blog, you will see it was LOVE that overwhelmed Gene’s heart to not care about the elements, for it was just an added bonus to his full release of love through dance and song expression. He couldn’t help himself; he had so much inside of him and he needed to get it out.
Why am I talking about this?
To give a visual of what I believe you can experience when you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior into your heart and life. He washes away the stains by His blood, and when you believe it and fully receive it, a release comes, and usually a joy and lightness suddenly comes like a surge along with it. The Father desires to give us gifts, and when He does, it always lifts off the heaviness. Lifts off the shame. Lifts off the regrets. Lifts off the addictions and stress.
If you are having one of those days where it just feels like you can’t do anything right, please stop and take 30 minutes to let this song, Clean, play over you. It’s designed to break the spirit of heaviness off you in Jesus’ name. It doesn’t feel comfortable to allow your heart to connect to your brokenness, but I’m learning that our pain cracks open our hearts so wide that the Holy Spirit has more access to do the work that only a true physician can do. He changes us from the inside out, and by the end of it, we will be wanting to dance in the rain too. You just won’t care who is watching, for you have been filled with His Eternal Love Air which helps you float above your current circumstances to experience His loving romances. It might event inspire new creative dances.

If you are bold enough, take a moment tonight, when you go to brush your teeth and as you look in the mirror, and tell yourself five times: I AM CLEAN!!
See what happens, for your body responds to your kind words of encouragement. Amen.
P.S. If you just go through the motions, it will not work. You have to be fully present when you say it to fully experience the goodness of it.
Until next time,
